The Therapeutic Dozen: Part 2
In our June Verdant, we met 6 women working in the broader field of Environmental Psychology and Restorative green-spaces, all based in either the UK or USA. Today I’d like to introduce you to the women working in nature-based interventions and therapies from Scandinavia and then here in Australia.
Spotlight on a member: Amy Akers
Amy’s path hasn’t always been about horticulture but her early interest in the natural environment ensured she wouldn’t stray far from the plant world. She is now Systems & Compliance Manager at Ball Australia. This is her story.
Women in Horticulture: Nikki Davey
Nikki was announced as the 2023 AgriFutures Rural Woman of the Year. This young entrepreneur developed her ‘Grown Not Flown’ digital app to encourage us to buy local, connecting us with local, sustainable flower producers. It’s a family affair involving 2 farms with truffles and flowers in regional Victoria.
