Sonia shared some history of the Bunurong people and traditional plant knowledge while demonstrating the creation of a herbal balm. While enjoying morning tea, we had a chance to chat, look at some native herb books and special items to the Bunurong people. Following that, Sonia took us for a tour around the garden, sharing names, uses and samples of the plants in cultivation.
The star plant of the morning was River Mint, Mentha australis, Poang Gurrk in language. Sonia encouraged everyone to research the plants they’re working with, but also connect on a deeper level and trust that connection.
