Please join us for a guided tour of the sensory gardens at Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre with Steven Wells and Sandra Schwarz followed by afternoon tea at Fairfield Park Boathouse & Tea Gardens
Steven is a nurse, horticultural therapist, gardens & grounds co-ordinator, DIY gardener and dabbler in various horticultural pursuits. He has developed the successful horticultural therapy program and therapeutic gardens at the Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Centre. Horticultural therapy uses gardening to improve people’s physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. We are very fortunate to have Steven take us on a tour of the picturesque therapeutic gardens he has created.
Sandra is a landscape architect and educator, with a passion for and great knowledge of therapeutic horticulture and landscapes. So much so she’s writing a book about it (watch this space). At the Austin she is a regular volunteer supporting the maintenance of the garden. During our event, she’ll give us a peek behind the scenes.
