Celebrate Women in Horticulture, Feb 2015

On a balmy late summer evening in February 2015, some 55 EWHA members, partners, friends and colleagues gathered at Melbourne Zoo’s Rainforest Room to ‘Celebrate Women in Horticulture’.

Guest speaker was the passionate Millie Ross, author of ‘The Thrift Gardener’, respected broadcaster, television researcher and, above all, enthusiastic ‘repurposer’ who manages to find a further use for items many would discard as rubbish.

The Rainforest Room was the perfect setting for our gathering. The table centrepieces were individual and created by the talented Kirsteen MacLeod and Carolyn Priest. The camaraderie was second to none and a fabulous night was capped off beautifully when chairperson Sue Vernes announced that henceforth the EWHA Student Scholarship would be known as EWHA’s Dawn Fleming Student Scholarship.

Our thanks to Lisa and the team from Seasol for the guest gift Gardener’s Soap.

Thanks to these wonderful companies who donated goodies for our raffle and door prizes.Raffle_1
