2025 Dawn Fleming Student Scholarship Winner

We are delighted to announce that the 2025 winner of the Dawn Fleming Student Scholarship is Marlena Mende.

Marlena Mende, Masters student at University of Melbourne (Burnley) has been awarded our 2025 Dawn Fleming Student Scholarship.

After a successful career in business/marketing, Marlena has thrown herself into horticulture, working in several volunteer capacities while juggling her part-time studies and a young family.

The judges were particularly taken with Marlena’s interest in how AI technology could be used in a horticultural context to improve outcomes, particularly in the nursery sector.

Marlena’s response was:

“I am so grateful to receive this year’s Dawn Fleming Student Scholarship. Receiving this award and the recognition by women in the industry means a lot to me. I look forward to applying my skills and contributing meaningfully to the industry in the future.”
