On Friday 11 September 2026, our Encouraging Women in Horticulture community enjoyed a lovely day of connection, learning and inspiration at the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne.
We began with a tour of the nursery, hosted by Team Leader Mandy Thomson, learning about conservation horticulture and diverse approaches to propagation. We were then treated to a sneak peek inside the Orchid House which was a wonderland of native orchids all in bloom!
After a relaxed lunch together, we headed off on a Garden Explorer bus tour, enjoying the sunshine and sharing ideas along the way. A chance encounter with a powerful owl and a stroll through the Gondwana Garden and Eucalypt Walk rounded off a beautiful spring visit to the gardens.
A big thank you to Tour Guide Sue, and Horticulturists Marie and Scott for generously sharing their time, knowledge and enthusiasm with us. Your support helped make the day such a positive and inspiring experience for everyone.
